Evolutionary Advance?

Lagos is a port city located in South West corner of Nigeria. I personally have no religious preference. I’m not trying to promote either Creationism or Evolution’s explanation of earth’s origins. I simply think it would be wise to know exactly what goes on in scientific research, instead of blindly listening to whatever the scientific community says. Learn why they make the judgements they do. How do they determine evidence? What consists of a logical hypothesis? It’s all about philosophy, the philosophy of science; because as long as it is humans who are doing the scientific research, some element of human logic and human philosophy is going to have to be applied to find meaning to scientific findings. Therefore science is dependent upon the study of such things as logic and philosophy simply because understanding the human mind is dependent upon logic and philosophy. You can’t have science without a human using their mental capacities, logic, and philosophies in order to critically analyze the evidence. however, he never presented any evidence! he died in 1997 he seems to be just another born again who regurgitates all the tired arguments supposedly against evolution without actually presenting ANY scientific evidence. 150 years of what some have inclined toward considering evidence does nothing to answer the question I posted. I didn’t ask you for a description of the history of study. I understand that sort of evolution. Surgical Technologists – Surgical technologists receive their training in formal programs offered by community and junior colleges, vocational schools, universities, hospitals, and the military. In 2006, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) recognized more than 400 accredited training programs. Programs last from 9 to 24 months and lead to a certificate, diploma, or associate degree. Programs provide classroom education and supervised clinical experience. Students take courses in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, professional ethics, and medical terminology. Other topics covered include the care and safety of patients during surgery, sterile techniques, and surgical procedures. Students also learn to sterilize instruments; prevent and control infection; and handle special drugs, solutions, supplies, and equipment. Most employers prefer to hire certified technologists. More efficient data storage – Conventional radiography films take up room; sometimes an enormous amount of room. Patients that have been seeing a particular dentist for a number of years can have huge files of “film” that are stored in a back room somewhere. Managing this traditional form of “data” is time consuming and laborious, not to mention discouraging when films get misplaced. Digital data is immediately accessible from a computer. It is highly organized and stored in a small space. Information is much less likely to be lost and time and labor is saved from not needing to manually pull out all of the individual documents.

Holistic Dentistry is the field of dentistry which will promote dental health and wellness instead of the treatment of dental diseases. It is often referred to as biological dentistry , which is an alternative approach that focuses on the use of non-toxic restorative materials for dental work and emphasizes the unrecognized effect that dental toxins and dental infections may have on the overall health of a person. Holistic dentists follow natural treatments to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases of the oral cavity. The distinction between a ‘medium’ and a ‘technology’ is a somewhat slippery one. While mediums are technologies, not all technologies are mediums. In Amusing Ourselves to Death Neil Postman uses a comparison between the ‘brain’ and the ‘mind’ to help illustrate this distinction. Like the brain, technology is a physical apparatus. Like the mind, a medium is a use to which a physical apparatus is put” (Postman, 1985, p. 84). This distinction means that a medium, is more than just a machine (as technology is), it is rather the social and intellectual environment a machine creates” (p. 84). This is not to say that these technologies do not exist without bias, they do in fact exhibit a great degree of bias. Most technologies carry with them a predisposition for some kind of use, to borrow from Postman again for example; television carries with it a bias towards engaging the visual medium (Postman, 1985). While the television as a piece of technology could be used for any number of purposes from a light for the room to that of a radio, but that was not how it was adopted for use because its most novel feature was the broadcast of the visual medium (Postman, 1985). With this distinction firmly in place we can begin to examine the central tenant of the media ecology, the medium is the message”. Medical Assistants – Postsecondary medical assisting programs are offered in vocational-technical high schools, postsecondary vocational schools, and community and junior colleges. Programs usually last either 1 year and result in a certificate or diploma, or 2 years and result in an associate degree. Courses cover anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as typing, transcription, recordkeeping, accounting, and insurance processing. Students learn laboratory techniques, clinical and diagnostic procedures, pharmaceutical principles, the administration of medications, and first aid. They also study office practices, patient relations, medical law, and ethics. There are various organizations that accredit medical assisting programs, and accredited programs often include an internship that provides practical experience in physicians’ offices, hospitals, or other health care facilities.
