Medical Assistant Certifications, RMA And CMA

If you are thinking about a career as a surgical technician, you are probably wondering what type of training you will have to complete in order to qualify for this sort of position. To become a dental hygienist you’ll need a 2 or 4 year degree in dental hygiene. Most programs are offered through community colleges or other technical colleges. You also must become licensed by the state in which you plan to practice. Almost all states require the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination in addition to the regional or state clinical exam. Properly sterilized and quality dental instruments play a major role in providing effective dental treatment. This includes the usage of dental drill, dental scalps and fixation screws, sickle probs and many more. Devices such as effective lighting and imaging will increase the treatment of the patient. Physician assistant training does not end with passing the national certifying exam. To keep the certification active, the PA must complete 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years. The individual also must pass a recertification exam or successfully complete a program that includes learning and an at-home exam. During their continuing education, PAs may develop an interest in a specialty area and elect to pursue a relevant educational program. Popular specialties include rural primary care, internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, and surgery. At present, 69 percent of adults between the ages of 35 to 44 have lost at least a tooth due to decay, disease, or trauma, according to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Likewise, the organization reported that about 26 percent of adults have lost all permanent teeth by the time they reach 74 years. The school’s research focuses on diverse issues relevant to primary health care and general practice, reflecting the variety of expertise amongst the academic team of social scientists, health educators and medical and allied health practitioners. Second-year residents increase their orthopaedic responsibilities to include rotations in adult reconstruction, pediatric orthopaedics, trauma, foot and ankle, as well as a rotation at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. The PGY 2 resident begins taking in-house orthopaedic call with the support of a more senior resident, a chief resident and department faculty. Primary responsibilities of residents in the second year of training include covering the Level I Trauma Center at Riley Hospital for Children and the emergency departments at IU Health and the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. In addition, PGY 2 residents must attend a comprehensive fracture course. For instance, we can reduce the time spent to receive a new crown from several days – to a matter of hours. For more complex restorations and surgeries, we can pre-plan and coordinate the entire treatment virtually across multiple specialties, and even provide restorative and surgical services in the same appointment – so patients get the advantage of expert consultation and care, quickly and easily.

Previous students have reflected on this experience as ‘going to work’ each day rather than ‘going to uni’. This reflects a sense of involvement and value in the health team and an acceptance of their role in the community in which they live. It is important to always be aware of all medications that your patients are taking to avoid any dangerous reactions or complications. Be sure to find out the name of your patient’s doctor, so you will be able to contact him or her for a consultation if required. Additional training may be required for dentists who wish to administer treatment to disabled or special needs patients. To be fair there are organized continuing education programs and dental organizations that can be comprehensive and extremely helpful to training the practicing dentist. The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD is the 2nd largest recognized US Dental Professional Organization) has their Fellowship (FAGD) and Mastership (MAGD) programs. This includes a program that requires a large number of accredited continuing education courses (FAGD = 500 hours; MAGD = 1100 hours including hands-on courses) in specified fields. The Fellowship also requires a strictly administered written examination. The General Practice Board Certification (Civilian and Military) requires accredited continuing education lecture and hand-on courses, written examination and an oral examination of a comprehensive clinical case. The dentist must indicate that they are a General Dentist with the FAGD, MAGD or Board Certified GP. I believe that all 50 states have no problem with these designations but not as specialists. The Chinese government has taken positive measures to achieve Millennium Development Goal 5 (MDG5) in recent 20 years. 12 The maternal mortality ratio (MMR) in China has declined significantly and finally achieved MDG5. 13,14 However, similar to developed countries, when the MMR fell to a very low level, useful information obtained from maternal deaths was limited, 3,20 and the MMR became unstable. In order to find more information to improve maternal health, and further reduce maternal mortality and improve women’s quality of life, Chinese obstetrics experts have shifted their focus from maternal death to MNM. 15 With financial support from the National Health Commission and technical guidance from the World Health Organization, China officially launched the National Maternal Near Miss Surveillance System (NMNMSS) at the end of 2010. In recent years, a lot of institutional, provincial and national studies have been published using the data collected from NMNMSS. 16-19 However, there is a lack of systematic and comprehensive description on sampling, data collection tools and methods, and quality control for this system. The aim of this study is to introduce NMNMSS in detail and to report the composition of MNM in China.
